Blacker Wood Collection 166 items
The paintings of birds, fish, and flowers by Elizabeth Gwillim and Mary Symonds held in the Blacker Wood Natural History Collection at McGill Library, and the landscapes and portraits painted by Mary Symonds in the Madras Album held at the South Asia Museum, are brought together to form the digital Gwillim Archives. The identifications of the birds, fish and flowers were made by members and friends of the Gwillim Project research network, including Dr S. Subramanya, Professor S. Ayyappan, Shyamal Lakshminarayanan, Bengaluru; Dr A Gopalakrishnan, Kochi, Kerala; Dr Henry Noltie, Edinburgh.
